My work focuses on solution processing thin film metal oxides for use in optoelectronic devices.

I will be predominantly be using the sol-gel-spin coating method to synthesise high-k dielectric layers with the aim of incorporating additional functionality such as ferroelectric behaviour. The ultimate goal of this project is to add memory functions to simple field effect transistors using cheap, large area processing methods with the possibility of creating non volatile memory devices with realistic potential for industrial use.

I will also with using the spray pyrolysis technique to synthesis transparent conducting ZnO layers for application in thin film transistors. The ultimate aim of this project is to solution process high quality doped ZnO films for replacement TCO applications.
